Bad news for Xiaomi Mi A1: stop the Android Oreo update

After having rejoiced at Xiaomi's year-end gift to Mi A1 smartphone users, because the official Android 8.0 Oreo update was implemented for the company's first Android One device, launched in September last year, bad news now arrives.

In fact it is these recent hours that the news the implementation of the update was interrupted as several users complained of various bugs that compromised the phone's performance. In particular, the problems seem to be mainly linked to the poor battery performance, associated with the phone's Bluetooth function. Other users have complained that the ambient light sensor turned out poco sensitive while others claimed to have problems with receiving a call when the display is off or even that the Camera application did not respond to the commands.

Recall that the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Xiaomi Mi A1 was released on December 31 2017 with a weight in terms of MB equal to 1104,1, which brought new features such as the Picture-in-Picture function, the Autofill Framework, intelligent text selection, new emojs, Quick Charge 3.0 Quick Charge and more.

Currently there are no confirmations about when Xiaomi will resume the Android Oreo update for Mi A1. However, a beta version of a new update has been released so that the bugs can be fixed. Xiaomi Mi A1 is essentially the Mi 5X smartphone launched in China in July last year. The only difference between the two phones is that the 5X Mi does not have 20 band support and boasts the MIUI 9 interface based on Android Nougat.

Like the Mi 5X in a certain sense it also inherits the "bad luck" (pass me the term) because just the 5X Mi does not have a Global Stable e ROM it also seems that some terminals of Mi A1 on a well-known store (do not worry it's not Gearbest.com) they are sent as fakes, because in reality they are Mi 5X with modified bootloader that therefore leads to a brick of the smartphone in case of change of the installed ROM.

Of course this last news is not Xiaomi's fault, but we hope that everything will be resolved in the shortest possible time, in virtue that the A1 has represented and still represents for the Chinese company a big business card on a global scale.
