It was abundantly spoken and the news of the day is surely this: Xiaomi will officially present his SoC property il 28 February at a conference in Beijing. Have you been invited?
The poster on Weibo speaks clearly and leaves no room for misunderstanding, obviously for those who know Chinese!
The poster is a sort of invitation to the Peking University 28 February and considering the fact that we have been talking for some time now Xiaomi Mi5c and this processor, it might be plausible to expect a smartphone launch event coupled with the first one SoC entirely developed by Xiaomi same.
In fact, although Xiaomi has never leaked, even through unofficial ways, details concerning the technical specifications of the Pinecone, rumors speak clearly of two versions, respectively defined V670 e V970, of which only the first would be ready for the end of the month.
As anticipated by some rumors, the new and almost almost certain Xiaomi Mi5c (if you want to call it Meri for friends) should have aboard the Pinecone V670, octa-core with 8 Cortex A53 with architecture at 28nm, and a Mali T-860 MP4 GPU.
Completely different story regarding the "big brother": the variant V970, in fact, whose launch seems to be foreseen for the 'last quarter of the 2017, should always be an octa-core but this time the larger 4 cores should be of the Cortex A73 (@2.7GHz maxima) flanked by 4 core "little" Cortex A53 (@2.0GHz).
In addition we would also talk about GPUs for this Xiaomi SoC Pinecone model: a Mali G71 MP12 GPU would complete the hardware park.
But of course we will know more and more details about this 28 this month, at a conference that looks really unique in its kind for Xiaomi as it is the first SoC owner of the company and why, just like a year ago, they could reveal a fantastic smartphone just like the ceramic Mi5!
We stay tuned and ready to attend the conference that will begin at the 14, local Chinese time.
