Updated ChatGPT: Will now remember who you are and your preferences

Chat GPT is updated and introduces a novelty that brings substantial integration: from now on the chatbot will have the ability to remember who you are and what you like. Currently, this feature is only available to Plus subscribers and is still in beta. Let's find out more details in the next lines.

Now ChatGPT will remember who you are - the update

Here is the press release released by the OpenAI company: “ChatGPT will consider your personalized instructions for every conversation, from here on out. The model will consider your instructions every time she replies, so you won't have to repeat your preferences or information in every conversation".

Here are some concrete examples provided by OpenAI itself: “A teacher who creates a lesson plan will no longer have to repeat that it is aimed at a third grade science class. A developer who prefers to get code in a language other than Python will only be able to specify it once and it will be remembered. Making the shopping list for a large family will be easier, with the model capable of counting portions for six people".

But how will this feature be activated? Simply by answering two questions asked by the chatbot, namely: “What would you like ChatGPT to know about you to provide better answers? e How would you like ChatGPT to respond?".

The new feature has not yet launched in Europe

According to what OpenAI has implied, the feature in question will improve the experience provided with the plugins. However, during the beta phase, the instructions will not always be interpreted correctly.

Furthermore, the update – although in beta phase – is not yet available for Europe and the UK. This is probably due to reasons related to the methods of handling personal data. We'll see if the territorial stakes will be removed, or there will be a new battle, just like the one that caused the software to be blacked out for a few weeks.
