Just yesterday we have reiterated you that the new Xiaomi Mi 5C will soon be presented and that a processor self-developed by Xiaomi will power the smartphone. A recent leak also revealed that the Pinecone it will have an architecture octacore Cortex-A53 like the power of the chip Snapdragon 808.
But apparently for the year 2017 two versions are provided , by Xiaomi, of the Pinecone processor, in order to cover more slices of the market. The two variants will be characterized by the abbreviations V670 e V970 and We 5C will fit the V670 version, the one with lower performance. The V670 version will feature a production process at 28nm and a structure Cortex A53 octacore with GPU entrusted to Mali-T860 MP4 with a clock speed of 800 MHz.
Instead, the variant defined by the acronym V970, which will have superior performance, will be presented in the fourth quarter (Q4) this year and will be characterized by a core comprising four Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. The new CPU will have one minimum clock frequency up to 2.0 GHz e a maximum clock speed of 2.7 GHz. The V970 will also feature a more powerful GPU such as Mali G71 MP12 with a clock speed of 900 MHz.
Finally, the Pinecone V970 processor will use the same process at 10nm like the Snapdragon 835 chip of Qualcomm.
