Geekbench is the best known portal when it comes to benchmarks, together with AnTuTu. However, the two are different. The first allows, among other things, to identify processors and device configurations ahead of their official release. The second, on the other hand, speaks to us of performance and prices in relation to the device range. Well, today's news is that Geekbench will not give us more information in advance about i devices not yet released. Let's go and see the details that emerged today.
Geekbench will no longer give us the results in advance of smartphones, but not only, and their performance: why this change of course?
According to what communicated by Primate Labs, the Canadian company that established the Geekbench benchmark platform, the portal will no longer share anticipatory information. In particular, we will no longer find data from devices and SoC platforms still unpublished and not released on the market. Very often the benchmark platform has given us details about smartphones that have yet to come out, such as for example iQOO Z5X.
The reasons behind this choice are unknown: Primate Labs did not share any information on the matter. However, we know that for some months now some phone companies such as Xiaomi have contacted leakers from different sources precisely because of the leaked information. It is plausible (but not established) to think that the same companies contacted Primate Labs for stop information leaks coming from the Geekbench platform.
