Google Camera 8.2 makes shooting videos even easier

After the release 8.1, Google 8.2 Camera is starting to show up in the very first beta releases. This is an updated version of the current GCam that we have (I hope) on our devices. It is no secret that the Google's algorithms are the best around and that the proprietary camera is the most used. However, there is never a limit to the improvements that can be implemented and XDA Developers gives us a taste. Below we see one of the news that will be introduced.

Shooting videos becomes easier with the Google Camera 8.2: the XDA Developer team shows us a preview of what will change with the next version

With the version Google 8.2.204 Camera it will be possible for users record videos hands-free in a few simple steps. The new feature that will allow you to do this is based on a setting that was already introduced in version 7.1 on the Pixel 4. This allows you to Quickly start a video capture (without switching to “Video” mode) by pressing and holding your finger on the shutter button. Below is a clip showing how to do it.

But what changes with the previous version? Google Camera 8.2 allows you to remove your finger once swiped. Before doing so, the video capture would have been blocked. Ultimately, swiping your finger to the left will switch to one mode hands free. A bit like we can do with WhatsApp voice messages. The swipe is thought both to the left and up and down. The upward one will allow you to zoom + while the downward one will zoom -.

Google Camera 8.2.204 is in the process of launching and it should be available more widely in the coming days. The new feature follows another update that allowed Pixel owners of the disable the automatic Night Sight function. Without a doubt in the coming days the modders will give us the first ones porting compatible with our devices.
