We broke up some time ago with the GCam in version 8.0, available for some OnePlus devices. The innovations were many but unfortunately the porting which we saw was not available for other brands. Today, however, we have news of the arrival of the Google 8.1 Camera for different models of Android smartphones. Let's see what are the supported devices and, in short, what are the news of the new version of the GCam.
Here is the Google Camera 8.1: a new port by Urnyx05 brings it to (almost) all updated Android devices
La Google 8.1 Camera we are talking about here is, of course, a port of the native camera present on the new devices Pixel 4a e Pixel 5. These smartphones have already been updated to version 8.1 and thanks to geek developers of XDA, other users can also enjoy the exclusive features. Among these, just to name a few, is the Storage Saver mode, which uses compression algorithms capable of reducing the space occupied by photos and videos.
What devices can install it?
Unfortunately not all Android smartphones can use Google Camera 8.1. As reported by the developer above, there may be problems with devices Samsung, OnePlus and some other brand devices with platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 845. We tried it on a OnePlus 8 and unfortunately the application doesn't work. However, we're pretty confident that within a few weeks urnyx05 will be able to extend support even to devices that are currently unable to run the latest version of the apk.
In the previous paragraph we left the link to the XDA thread. Below we leave you the direct link to the MEGA file: this is the apk to install on your device. We remind you, once again, that not all smartphones are compatible at the moment.
