Although Google is an excellent company, perhaps the best, in the software field, its luck with hardware products has been rather mixed. Its smartphones are praised for their "pure" Android experience but often criticized for hardware quality. Google Pixel 5 did not escape that curse, with i edges of the screen slightly separated from its frame. But while Google strangely confirms that it's part of the phone's design, it turns out the Pixel 5 is even stranger under its body. Zack, aka JerryRigEverything, was very surprised by the strength of the device.

For those less accustomed to this type of smartphone, you should know that for the current top-of-the-range model, the company has decided to create the body entirely in recycled aluminum. A wise choice for the environment but which at first aroused not a few criticisms. How good will the material be? And how resistant? And against the wildest expectations the Google device has one much firmer rind than we imagined. bio resin material it is thick and hard, impermeable even to acetone. This protects the phone from disastrous falls and, of course, makes it possible wireless charging which is a strong point of the device. The curious thing, however, is that the metal underneath that bio resin material it doesn't actually cover the entire back of the Pixel 5. The metal “subframe” has a large open hole in which the wireless charging coil is inserted. This means that much of the rear section of the smartphone is not as protected as the rest.
Fortunately, this does not affect the construction of the frame and the functioning of the device in any way.
