Therefore the desire to own a Xiaomi terminal sometimes drives users to rely on more or less authorized and reliable stores, but who do not always adopt moral and ethical lines, shipped Xiaomi smartphones with floppy ROMs, sometimes with bloatware or even fake terminals.

Of course the beautiful Xiaomi terminals are that they allow a profound personalization even at the software level and therefore the company makes it possible to unlock the bootloader through a user-based user identification procedure, which will allow the authorization to be released.
Unlocking the bootloader will not lead to the loss of OTA updates (for official MIUI ROMs), it will also allow you to get ROOT permissions and above all it will allow you to install ad hoc cooked ROMs for the unlocked device and many other privileges. Unfortunately, returning to the first lines of this article, Xiaomi decided to permanently block (albeit temporary) the possibility of unlocking the bootloader, the terminals Mi 5X and Redmi 5A Notes so much to publish on their official forum the following ad:
In order to improve our mobile security, the bootloader unlocking mechanism for the following devices is being updated.
The affected devices are Mi 5X and Redmi 5A / Prime Notes. During this temporary period, users of Mi 5X and Redmi 5A / Prime terminals will not be able to unlock the device.

The reason why this choice is due to the fact that on the AliExpress online shop, many users have bought these smartphones attracted by the affordable price but unfortunately what was shipped translates into un device with apparently unlocked bootloader that actually was deleted and replaced with that of the Mi Max 2, with OEM partitioning different than the original one. All this, without getting into technicalities which I too could not give you the details, meant that the end user found himself in a handsome Mi 5X brick, or as it says in less geek terms, a completely useless brick.
Fortunately we at XiaomiToday.it always recommend you reliable stores, among which Gearbest.com (in my opinion the best) who recently sent the Xiaomi Mi 5X to offer you a complete review. Naturally since the MIUI 9 is not yet officially available but only the China Stable, I could not install the alternate ROM proposed by the xiaomi.eu team that boasts the adoption of the MIUI 9 interface. In addition, China Stable has no Google service installed, as it is devoid of the Italian language. I first thought of having a beautiful and interesting smartphone in my hands but without the opportunity to use it properly, until I found a small solution to my problems.
I claim that some users have tried to use VPN services to address the problem of unlocking the bootloader but without success, while many others have encountered the problem of Play Store blocked on the information verification screen. In my case I followed this simple guide that I now carry, pointing out that at the moment I tried my Mi 5X mounted the version 8.5.8.0.NDBCNED (MIUI8) subsequently updating to version V8.5.15.0.NDBCNED (MIUI8).

Download this .rar file and extracts it on the PC
Connect the Mi 5X to file transfer mode
Always from the PC go to the MIUI / backup folder inside the internal memory of Mi 5X
Create a folder and rename AllBackup
Within the folder just created paste the files extracted from the archive downloaded to the 1 point
Now disconnect the Mi 5X from your PC and from the smartphone go to Settings / Additional Settings / Backup and Restore / Local Backups
Choose the backup file that looks like 4 file from the size of 127MB. Now click on the reset button
After the backup resume has finished, restart the phone
