DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Haylou's new audio creation has been specially designed to offer super ergonomic comfort, but at the same time refined, considering that the stem of the headphones is inspired by the keys of the piano, a hint that these earphones are strongly devoted to multimedia with particular emphasis on music . The charging case is made of plastic but has a highly professional appearance, featuring a matte finish for the body in general and a glossy finish for the lid, which unfortunately does not integrate the hall sensor.
In my case I received the white color in contrast with the silver finish of the lid but a midnight blue color is also available whose contrast is less evident than the one I tested. The material used also benefits from an electrolytic treatment, for greater resistance to water splashes and scratches, also generally counting on IPX4 certification.
The HAYLOU writing on the lid is nice, while in the lower part of the charging case we find the Type-C input for charging, while on the side we have a small button which, if pressed for several seconds, resets the headphones to the factory settings, or if pressed quickly allows you to query the charging status of the case, which occurs via the LED inserted on the front, which offers 3 colors depending on the charging status of the case (green, orange, red).
The lid or rather the hinge that allows it to be opened is definitely of excellent workmanship, as even with very strong jolts the lid remains in its position, but also the magnets that hold the earphones in place are decidedly strong and firm.
The Haylou W1 ANC have an in-ear type stem design, which adheres very well to the shape of the ear canal, and here too we find the same glossy and matte workmanship to recall the case. Accompanying the earphones we find 6 microphones (3 per single earphone) while the drivers are 10 mm in size. Removing the earphones from their housing is quite simple and putting them back in their place is very simple.
CONTROLS AND COMPANION APPS
The Haylou W1 ANC offer a touch surface at the height of the drivers whose reactivity was quick and precise, being able to give commands via double/triple touch or long press. There are therefore no single touches, but we can customize the command via the companion app, choosing whether to manage the volume, skip the track, enable game mode, activate ANC or manage play/pause, as it is not present a sensor dedicated for this purpose.
Of course we can also manage calls, answering, hanging up or rejecting them, but you will have guessed that we do not have the possibility to call up the phone's virtual assistant. The choice of command can be changed on a single earphone, for example also choosing to deactivate the command.
In this regard, the application, Haylou Sound available for both Android and iOS, also allows you to change the audio profiles by choosing from predefined presets but we do not have the possibility of creating a personalized equalization curve. We can then update the firmware if the company releases a new version, but also enable sleep mode, which will disable the touch controls, ideal for example in gaming or if we fall asleep with headphones on. Touch controls will be re-enabled once we place the earbuds inside the charging case.
SOUND QUALITY AND BATTERY LIFE
Pairing the earphones to a device is very simple and Bluetooth 5.3 guarantees a connection and stability for over 10 meters in an open field, but the integrated chip also allows multipoint connectivity to be able to pair the Haylou W1 ANC with two devices simultaneously, but what is also surprising is the low latency, only 65ms, which these earphones boast, with excellent synchronization between audio and video in streaming and gaming.
I was surprised by the sound quality, of very high quality, thanks to the use of a tri-core CPU and dedicated fifth generation HiFi DSP. Thanks to the large 10mm drivers we are able to perceive all the nuances of a song, with a perfect balance between medium-high tones and nice warm and full-bodied bass, net of the supported classic codec, namely SBC/AAC. The 6 microphones integrated into the Haylou W1 ANC are also amazing, making use of an AI algorithm capable of eliminating wind interference and various background noises, for extremely high-level call audio quality. Furthermore, if you want to immerse yourself and isolate yourself from the world you can take advantage of the ANC technology with noise suppression up to -45dB, choosing whether to enable it completely or whether to activate the dynamic ANC, i.e. the system will calibrate the suppression intensity based on the context you are in.
As regards autonomy, the Haylou W1 ANC rely on a 400 mAh battery for the case and 35 mAh for the earphones. With a full charge which takes place in an hour and a half, you get an autonomy of approximately 6,5 hours, which can reach up to 35 hours via the case recharges if we do not use the ANC, values that drop to 4.5 hours per single charge and 25 hours total. Record autonomy capable of covering a week of standard use if not more. However, wireless charging is absent.

PROJECTED IMPACT
In the price range under 40 euros, the Haylou W1 ANC are an excellent choice to take into serious consideration, even just as spare earphones. Premium design and build quality, exceptional clarity and audio quality especially on calls and autonomy that does not disappoint, but above all unique functions in this price range such as dual ANC and Multipoint connectivity. Considering their price, it is difficult not to recommend them considering what was said in the review, but hurry, there are few pieces available, including free delivery, available both on the official website and on AliExpress.
