The eternal struggle between the most popular messaging apps, namely WhatsApp and Telegram, now has a new point in favor of the second, because if until now video calls were an exclusive of Whatsapp with the recent release of the alpha version of Telegram 7.0, now the function is finally available for all those who have the Russian developer app on their device.
We specify that at the moment the definitive app is not yet available on the Google Play Store, as we reiterate it at the moment the video call function on Telegram is still in the alpha phase, although this does not seem to show signs of instability.
Here's how to get video calls with Telegram
So are you curious to try video calling on Telegram too? Well all you need to do is install the alpha version apk on your device, but keep in mind that the person you want to video call must also have the same version installed on their phone, otherwise the video call option will not appear. The positive thing is that you can keep both versions of Telegram on your smartphone, both stable and alpha, without creating parallelism problems.
- The first thing you need to do is get the APL you can download join from this link which of course reports to a Telegram group;
- Once you have downloaded the APK, install it on your smartphone;
- Now open the application on your smartphone and continue as for the first login, i.e. you will receive a six-digit code (via SMS or via the Telegram app already installed on your devices) to be entered to activate the program;
- To start a video call, just click on the 3 dots in the upper right part of the contact and press the Video Call button, accepting the required permissions.
Nothing simpler, right? Obviously it is preferable to take advantage of this service with a stable connection, therefore in 4G or directly under WiFi coverage.
