The HIMO brand belonging to the Xiaomi Youpin ecosystem seems to be one of the most active (also in this period) as regards the mobility sector. In recent months the brand has in fact presented three very interesting electric and folding bikes. Well, to what these were not enough, so here we also welcome the new HIMO Z16.
HIMO Z16: Folding electric bike now in crowdfunding
The HIMO Z16 is a folding electric bike with pedal assistance that adopts an aluminum alloy frame, which according to the brand is very ergonomic and brings a comfortable driving experience. This is also thanks to the updated rear shock absorber that helps us improve stability on the road surface in various situations and at the same time effectively reduces vibrations. While the front and rear dual disc brakes allow you to quickly stop the bike in case of need.
As for the engine, we find one of the new generation certified to the Chinese 3C standard with a power of 250W for a maximum speed that can reach 25 km / h. The weight of the bike is instead of 22,5 kg, therefore relatively light and it is possible to fold it in three points. Specifically, we can fold the handlebar bar, the central part of the chassis and the pedals. After folding the bike it will then be possible to place it inside the luggage rack, lift or in any case in spaces larger than 860mm x 650mm x 200mm.
The HIMO Z16 then adopts a high definition LCD screen with data that will be clearly visible even in sunlight. Among the data that can be monitored in real time we have the speed, power, mileage and the reporting of possible errors.
From the autonomy point of view, the bike adopts a 18650 lithium battery which alone weighs about 2,5 kg, therefore not too heavy, for about 80km of use. The battery is hidden inside the upper tube of the frame and has an easily removable design to be able to extract it without any difficulty. This design is very interesting as it hides the battery when we are away from home and at the same time allows us to recharge it without having to connect the entire bike to the electrical outlet.
Finally, the HIMO Z16 adopts tires with CST patent with high wear resistance and super grip that have been chosen to effectively reduce friction and prevent lateral slippage; therefore they ensure good braking even on wet roads. Wet on which we will have no problem as the bike is waterproof with an IPX7 standard.
The HIMO Z16 was launched in crowdfunding on the Xiaomi China platform at the price of 2499 Yuan, or about 330 €.
