Honor Magic Vs2, Honor's first outward folding, is approaching launch
The new Honor smartphone, with the model number VCA-AN00, was in fact spotted on the China Compulsory Certification (3C) website on Aug. 25. Certification reveals that the device supports a 35W maximum charging power, which may be lower than some competitors. However, the reason for this choice could be related to “thin and light” design that Honor wants to give its first outward folding.
In fact, according to the rumors of Chinese bloggers Perfect Arrangement and Wang Jie Bystone, the new Honor smartphone, with the codename Victoria, adopts foldable design for large screens, similar to that of the Huawei Mate Xs series. This means that the screen folds outward, rather than inward like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold or Motorola Razr models. In this way, Honor aims to offer a wider and more immersive visual experience to users, without sacrificing portability and lightness.
The technical specifications of the screen of the new Honor Magic Vs2 are not yet known, but it is assumed that it is equipped with a flexible OLED panel with a diagonal of about 8 inches when open and of about 6 inches when folded. This is similar in size to the Huawei Mate Xs 2, which has a 7,8-inch screen when unfolded and 6,5-inch when folded. The latter device was launched last year with a slim and light design, measuring 11,1 mm thick after folding and weighing around 255 grams.
As for the other features of the new Honor Magic Vs2, it is speculated that it is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 processor, Qualcomm's flagship chipset for 2022. Furthermore, the new Honor smartphone is expected to have a quad-lens rear camera and a front-facing camera integrated into the screen.
There is still no official information on the price and launch date of the new Honor Magic Vs2, but it is believed that it could be presented later this year. Honor has already announced that it will hold a global event on September 12, where it will showcase its new Honor Magic 3 series.
