Honor is not going to have a 2021 roses and flowers, here's why

After anticipating the possible sale of the sub-brand from Huawei the official news has arrived: Honor it has been permanently sold to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology. It is a company made up of over 30 agents, resellers and distributors who will have to keep the company name high. But will it be easy? Not at all. According to forecasts the brand it gives poco split from the parent company will have a future not at all positive in terms of sales. Unlike other brands such as Oppo, Xiaomi e live, the "fledgling" phone company will suffer from the split from Huawei. Let's see the data from TrendForce.

TrendForce anticipates a hell of 2021 for Honor: the "new" brand will have a drop in sales like the parent company Huawei. Will the joint venture be able to take back the reins?

As anticipated, TrendForce has published his forecasts regarding sales figures for 2021. Based on what the study has produced, Honor will see a decline in sales of its products albeit in line with Huawei. While the split saved the company from a ban which, however, saw the parent company involved on the other did not benefit in a positive way to sales. Or at least to those expected. The data speak for themselves.

But what are the reasons why the well-known portal thinks that the future of Honor is not all roses and flowers? There are basically four:

  • in addition to political reasons, clearly the greatest difficulty will be that of production and procurement. Printed circuit boards cost money and the new company may not have the strength to get back on track in a big way;
  • the band to which the brand has always turned is that of young consumers. The reality, however, tells us that if before the company could use Huawei's firepower to survive, now it finds itself alone against giants like Xiaomi;
  • As long as the sanctions against Huawei are in place, the new Honor will not be able to use HiSilicon's proprietary chips. poco previous sales volume that you can count on will not allow you to buy external chipsets at a good price;
  • Xiaomi, Oppo and vivo will keep production rates very high and they'll override Honor's abilities in no time.
