After discovering a couple of weeks ago that the Honor V40 could be delayed to January 2021, today a famous Chinese leakster said that the smartphone could go official on January 12th. The leakster also shared a new screenshot which reveals that the Honor V40 is expected to come with a 120Hz refresh rate display.
Honor V40: possible launch scheduled for January 12
The poster in Chinese just above states that Honor's annual fan meeting is scheduled for January 13. In the past, the company has held fan activities the day after a new product launch. Hence, one could speculate that the Honor V40 will launch on January 12th.
As for the device specifications, previous leaks have suggested that the Honor V40 will be equipped with a 6,72-inch double-hole OLED panel and curved edges. It is speculated that it supports a 120Hz refresh rate and could offer the highest tactile sample rate seen on a smartphone.
In fact, we have another screenshot that would portray access to the game "Temple Escape 2" on the upcoming smartphone. In the screenshot we can clearly read the message "120 fps beta test (Honor V40)." Which indicates that it could come with 120Hz refresh rate support.
Finally, there is also the possibility that the Honor V40 may adopt the same 6,72-inch OLED screen present on the Huawei Nova 8 Pro made official yesterday. The Nova 8 Pro's screen offers a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sample rate of 300Hz.
