Honor, the Chinese smartphone brand that gained independence from more than a year ago Huawei, presented its latest mid-range model, theHonor X50at tonight's press conference. The device, which celebrates the 1400th anniversary of the X series, is proposed as the most powerful and complete 130 yuan smartphone (about XNUMX euros) on the market, challenging competition from Xiaomi, Realme and others.

The Honor X50 stands out for its elegant and distinctive design, with one 6,78 inch curved OLED screen with a hole in the center to accommodate the front 16 megapixel camera. The screen offers a 1,5K resolutiona 120 Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 1920Hz, ensuring smooth and crisp viewing. It also supports 1,07 billion colors, a contrast ratio of 1000000:1, and 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage, delivering cinema-level picture quality.

The back of the phone features the “Star Ring” module design inherited from Honor's flagship models, with a main camera from 100 megapixel with 1/1,67-inch sensor and f/1.75 aperture. The camera supports super night scene mode, AI intelligent optimization, portrait mode and wide aperture mode, allowing you to capture detailed and bright images in any light condition. Next to the main camera are one 8 megapixel ultra wide angle camera with 120 degree field of view, a macro camera of 2 megapixels and a 2 megapixel depth sensor.

The Honor X50 shines not only with its looks, but also with its performance and durability. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, the first 4nm chip from the American manufacturer, which offers a 40% increase in CPU performance and 35% GPU performance compared to the previous Snapdragon 778G. The processor is accompanied by up to 16GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage, ensuring exceptional fluidity and speed.

The Honor X50 also features a 5800mAh ultra large battery with support to quick charge from 66 W. According to the manufacturer, the phone can deliver up to 9 hours of continuous gaming, up to 20 hours of video playback and up to 7 hours of web browsing on one charge. In addition, Honor has promised that if the battery capacity falls below 80% within two years of purchase, it will replace it free of charge for the user.

Despite the large built-in battery, the Honor X50 maintains a slim and light body, with one thickness of only 7.98 mm and a weight of 185 grams. The phone is also drop resistant and water thanks to the SGS five-star certification and IP53 level. Honor has indeed reinforced the curved screen with tempered glass three times stronger than normal and sealed and protected the inside of the fuselage with a very high quality glue, which is both very strong and durable.

The Honor X50 leaves the factory with the Magic UI 7.1.1 operating system based on Android 13 and includes several smart features such as Honor's mask face unlock, which allows you to recognize your face even if you're wearing a mask.

The Honor X50 is available in four color options (black, white, blue and pink) and four memory configurations (8+128GB, 8+256GB, 12+128GB, and 16+256GB). The price starts from 1399 yuan (about 180 euros) for the basic version and reaches 1999 yuan (about 260 euros) for the top version. The phone will go on sale in China from July 10, and will hopefully arrive in Europe soon as well.
