I tried HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE paying only 40€ – Review DT NO.1 DT ULTRAMATE
DT NO.1 is a company that produces smartwatches inspired by models of more famous brands, in fact we saw the Apple Watch Ultra clone on the blog and now I'm ready to tell you about a new clone, this time inspired by the Huawei Watch Ultimate. So let's talk about the DT NO.1 DT Ultramate, with a premium appearance and which I must say I also liked a lot in the features offered, such as the possibility of making calls from the wrist thanks to the integrated speaker and microphone as well as a series of customizations, both through watchfaces and in the style of the software menu. But I don't want to spoil anything else except that this smartwatch costs less than 40 euros and at this price the deal is around the corner.

RETAIL PACK WITH DOUBLE STRAP
The sales package appears well cared for but above all it is appreciated that inside we find two straps, one of which is in metal for an elegant look and the other in silicone for a more sporty appearance and then we also find the charging base where to place the smartwatch for wireless charging. As for the straps, both offer a quick release with a 22mm pitch so you can find others for further customization of your daily outfit. Straps well made both in materials and in the closure, always firm but above all I appreciated that these do not create any discomfort in contact with the skin, even in these scorching hot days where perspiration becomes quite imposing.
TOP DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
As already mentioned, the DT Ultramate smartwatch is inspired by Huawei's most expensive wearable, presenting itself with a modern and elegant design, with a circular case with a diameter of 47,6 mm and a thickness of 11,8 mm for a weight of 49 grams without counting the strap, which if you adopt the metal one, the weight also reaches about 100 grams, a weight not indicated for female wrists. We are talking about an ultra-resistant zinc alloy body where 2 buttons are positioned on the right side, of which the upper one turns out to be rotatable, therefore a real digital crown, while the lower button will be used to easily access the many monitorable sports.
On the left side there is instead a programmable button, to call up functions at will and just below the button we will find the microphone and the speaker with which to give voice commands or make calls directly from the wrist. The display protected by tempered glass is also beautiful, a 1,5-inch IPS panel with 454 x 454 pixel resolution whose readability in the sun is guaranteed provided you adjust the backlight manually, as there is no dedicated sensor for this purpose.
BRIGHT AND LARGE DISPLAY
While the DT Ultramate is a budget smartwatch, the screen felt smooth and responsive to touches, one of the best screens in a budget smartwatch in terms of size and resolution, delivering color sharpness and brightness far above expectations.
One of the aspects that I definitely appreciated is the presence on the back of the case of sensors dedicated to heart rate (green light) and SpO2 (red light), something not so obvious in this price range. Moreover, their operation was on par with more expensive fitness trackers, indeed even better, for example, than Xiaomi Smart Band 8. Moreover, the DT NO.1 smart watch is IP68 certified, which makes it perfectly suitable even for use in the shower, while washing your hands or for swimming, among other things one of the sports that can be monitored.
It is plausible to think that all this is not recommended considering the presence of a microphone and speaker, but it is good to know that at the software level there is a function that will allow you to eliminate excess water, although it is preferable to give it a good shake first to remove the bulk.
AUTONOMY
Returning for a moment to the display and its customization, through the companion app it is possible to install new watchfaces, some of which are dynamic and in any case all free, but you can also create a personal one with your favorite photo. There is no Always On Display function even if the company wanted to fool its users, inserting a fake AOD which lasts only 10 seconds. Poco bad, because in my opinion the battery would be affected, which in the case of the DT Ultramate has a capacity of 360 mAh and which offers an autonomy of about 4/5 days with continuous heart rate monitoring, reaching up to 20 days if you use the smartwatch in energy saving mode but it will certainly not be your case. I really appreciated the wireless charging system, avoiding cheap cables and magnets poco powerful that at the first involuntary touch interrupt the recharge.
SENSORS AND HARDWARE
Under the "hood" we find the RTK8762DK chipset, in charge of processing the data collected by the watch as well as a double Bluetooth 5.0 chip, one dedicated to the standard connection with the smartphone and the other dedicated to calls. The sensors allow you to detect heart rate and SpO2 in a very precise way, as was the detection of steps both in daily and physical activity. We also have the possibility to record blood pressure values as well as to carry out an ECG, but although in the first case the recorded values have come close to reality, I believe that these functions are fake and inserted only to make up the number.
BLUETOOTH CALLS AND VOICE COMMANDS
Via Bluetooth we can manage calls and give voice commands, but remember to enable the function from the smartwatch. For the voice assistant, that of the smartphone will be used, as the Bluetooth will act as a bridge between the watch and the telephone while for calls, you can make them directly from your wrist, also drawing on your favorite numbers. The quality of the audio on call is more than fair and the volume quite generous, without particular distortions, making the conversation pleasant. So you won't need to take your phone out of your pocket to answer a simple call.
MENUS AND FUNCTIONS
The menu interface can be customized in 7 different styles, including the one reminiscent of Apple smartwatches, being able to move within either by swiping or by using the digital crown. From the home with a swipe down we access quick toggles with the possibility of adding or removing them, while with a swipe up we access multitasking where we can recall the last functions used or terminate them.
With a swipe to the right we find 4 tabs: one is used to view the remaining battery charge, but only blocks with a value of 20% (therefore 20-40-60-80-100%), one is used to recall Alipay, a form of wireless payment that does not work in our latitudes. The other two tabs will be used to bring up notifications and activate Bluetooth for calls. Finally, with a swipe to the left we access some quick functions including the daily activity report with indexes of steps, calories burned and distance traveled and then heart rate measurement, weather, SpO2 and sleep monitor but also in this case we can customize the choice by removing or adding functions including respiratory relaxation, air pressure, ECG, remote music control.
In addition to the aforementioned functions, the actual menu also includes: time zone, compass, telephone book, last calls made, stopwatch, personalized QR code to refer, for example, to an internet site or Telegram group, voice assistant (this can be recalled with a double tap from the home if we enable the call function), torch, calculator, find phone and settings.
The DT NO.1 DT Ultramate smartwatch is also equipped with NFC but unfortunately it cannot be used to make payments, but this, if combined with tags, allows for example to open doors, send business cards, launch apps, etc. As far as notifications are concerned, we can receive them from most of the applications but Telegram is absent unless you enable the reception of all, absolutely all the notifications that pass through your smartphone. We can not respond to notifications or view photos, emojis or listen to vocals.
SPORTS
The DT NO.1 smart watch also allows you to monitor about 100 sports activities, but there are few that have dedicated metrics and, moreover, there is no GPS, so you will have to rely on your smartphone to track a route, starting the activity from the companion app. There are many even less common sports, but choosing one or the other sport will only serve to have a distinction of the activity carried out as the recorded data will be the same for all sports. In addition to the sports functions and related values, it is also possible to monitor sleep for a better analysis of the state of health, even if specific functions such as the detection of sleep apnea, etc., are absent.
APP COMPANION
The DT Ultramate smartwatch is compatible with the WearPro app available for Android and iOS. Here all the data recorded by the smartwatch will be collected, also obtaining summary statistics which over time can also generate a report for better analysis. On the other hand, the integration of exercises to be carried out complete with video tutorials, a sort of digital personal trainer, is nice, thus encouraging physical activity.
PROJECTED IMPACT
You can buy the DT NO1 smartwatch. DT Ultramate on the official store on AliExpress at a price of 38,67 with free shipping. Sometimes the device goes on offer even going down to the 30 euro threshold, but in any case it is also the highest price, this smartwatch was valid both for construction and materials and for functionality. In fact, the possibility of being able to call and answer from the wrist is already worth the expense, but above all the monitor of values such as steps, heart rate, SpO2, sleep was accurate and rather reliable or at least comparable to many other devices that cost even double.
