The first Xiaomi notebook is official

Immediately after the presentation of the the first true flagship of the Redmi series occurred during the press conference held by Xiaomi in the last day, Lei Jun has also made official the first ultrabook of the company with the name of We Notebook Air, effectively representing the company's entry into this sector as well.

Essentially, the Mi Notebook Air has two versions that differ not only in size but also in the data sheet. Starting from the similarities, both have an all-metal body with a low-reflectivity protective glass (full lamination technology) that extends to the edges of the body (edge-to-edge) and has a hardness of 7H on the Mohs scale. The display differs in size, ie 12,5 "vs 13,3" inches, but it resembles the resolution which is full-HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and with a viewing angle of 170 °. Both have a backlit keyboard for each key with a pressure depth of 1,3 mm and the bezels that separate the display from the body are really very small, as they are 5,59 mm for the 13,3 "version. and 5,71 mm for the 12,5 ″ inch version. Finally, both have a built-in 1 MP camera that allows you to make video calls at HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels).

On the left side we find the HDMI output, the first USB 3.0 port (missing on the 12,5 "version) and the headphone input, while on the right we find the second USB 3.0 port and the USB Type-C input with support for fast charging (50% in 30 minutes). Below we find the grille for the cooling system and two other side grilles for the system speakers that were made by AKG with support for Dolby Digital Audio (Advance Edition). The upper part, on the other hand, is devoid of any type of logo, leaving the user the choice of applying various stickers to make their device even more personal (sold separately).

Turning to the data sheet, this is where we find the biggest differences between the two versions. In fact, the 13,3 "-inch version (corresponds to the" top "version) has a dual-core Intel Core i5-6200U CPU with a maximum frequency of 2,7 GHz, an NVIDIA GeForce 940MX video card, 8 GB of memory RAM (DDR4) and 256 GB of internal memory (PCIe SSD). In contrast, the 12,5 ″ version has a dual-core Intel Core M3-6Y30 CPU with a maximum frequency of 2,2 GHz, an integrated Intel HD Graphics 515 video card, 4 GB of RAM (LPDDR3) and 128 GB of internal memory (SATA SSD). Finally, both have a slot to expand the internal memory by adding another SSD hard disk, while the 13,3 "version has a slightly larger battery than the 12,5" inch one (respectively 40 W vs 37 W) . Complete all the support for Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 2 × 2 802.11 ac (dual-band) with connection speeds higher than 867 Mbps.
