Infinix Concept Phone 2021 presented at MWC 2021: the first with 160W recharge

The Infinix brand that typically devotes itself to low-mid-range devices has just entered the high-end category for the first time with its new Infinix Concept Phone 2021 presented at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

Infinix Concept Phone 2021 presented at MWC 2021: the first with 160W recharge

The Infinix Concept Phone 2021 is actually the same smartphone that we had already seen under the name of ZeroX and which had already been shown on several occasions recently. So while we were expecting the launch of the device on the market, the Chinese company has instead "transformed" it into a concept device, which means that it may not be launched on the market under any circumstances.

As previously anticipated, the smartphone has a very attractive design, but the undoubtedly most interesting feature of all is the support for 160 W fast charging, at least according to what the company says. Infinix claims that the charging speed allows you to recharge the 4000 mAh battery on board the device from 0 to 100% in just 10 minutes.

This ultra advanced charging technology that Infinix calls “Ultra Flash Charge” works thanks to an 8C battery. Infinix claims the battery boasts 18% lower internal resistance than a 6C battery. Furthermore, on board the device there is a Super Charge pump that shifts the voltage entering the device via the USB Type-C port to one that goes directly into the battery itself. This refill pump should be 98,6% efficient.

But it doesn't stop there because in addition to the incredible 160W wired fast charging technology, the Infinix concept phone also supports fast wireless charging of up to 50W. That said, this is a more "ordinary" specification, as we have already smartphone with 50W wireless charging such as the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.

Infinix Concept Phone 2021

As for the other features, the Infinix Concept Phone 2021 arrives with a 6,67-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution. The display adopts a curved design on both sides, as is a glass panel on the back on the back. Then there is a thin piece of metal that separates both panels due to the curvature, which is also why the device has no physical buttons on the sides.

The Infinix Concept Phone 2021 also adopts color changing technology for the back panel, which keeps it on when in use. The word “NOW” is engraved in bold on the rear panel, coming from the brand's slogan: “The Future is Now”. Then we have an "O" ring that lights up when the smartphone is charging, while the entire rear panel can change from silver gray to blue as a form of notification when there is an incoming call or similar activity. The brand claims that color changing technology is based on electrochromic and electroluminescent technology, again nothing really new.

Furthermore, Infinix claims that the Concept Phone 2021 is equipped with 20 temperature sensors on different aspects of the body which ensure that the temperature is kept below 40ºC (104ºF). If the working conditions change, there is a safety function that is activated to prevent possible damage.

For photography, the smartphone adopts a periscope lens with a diameter of 135 mm which can magnify up to 60 times with the digital zoom, while inside we find an 8 MP sensor. We then have two other sensors with AI whose specifications are not known at the moment. In front we have a camera in a hole in the upper left corner.

Finally, the smartphone comes packaged with a charger with a power of 160 W. The charger uses gallium nitrate (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors. It also has support for multiple protocols so it can handle both laptop and smartphone charging.

As for its market launch, as previously mentioned we doubt it will ever arrive. That said, his release has not been officially denied.
