Start the rollout of MIUI 9.5 ROM stable and finally the Nougat style notifications arrive

Android Nougat is already present from the 2016 and one thing appreciated by many was the notification management, an aspect that many find negative in the MIIA interface of Xiaomi, despite most of the smartphones produced by the Chinese company revolves with the Google OS in the Nougat version. With the advent of the MIUI 9 Global released in November 2017 the changes and implementations compared to the previous UI were consistent, such as the Split Screen, Mi Drop, new Gallery and much more but nothing about notifications in full Nougat style, so to speak those expanding through two fingers down with the possibility of rapid response or to postpone the notification.

And if you had lost hope, actually good news appears on the horizon, as Xiaomi has finally developed this feature starting with the release of the stable MIUI 9.5.

MIUI 9.5 FINALLY BRINGS NOUGAT STYLE NOTIFICATIONS ON XIAOMI DEVICES

Apparently for testing the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was examined with the release of the MIUI 9.5.4.0 NCFMIFA which includes security patches updated in February 2018. In the update they were introduced new ringtones, new sounds related to recharge, lock / unlock device as happened in January with the release of the MIUI Global Beta 8.1.8.

Note that this is a nightly build: Xiaomi releases nightly updates constantly to some beta testers and only after their positive feedback, the update is distributed to all users as a stable build. If you are impatient and you want to try the new update you can download from , promising the ROM (for Redmi Note 4)  in recovery format and run the flash with the usual method.

MIUI 9.5 is expected for most Xiaomi smartphones, but only those who have already received Android Nougat 7.0 or later versions will receive the OTA notification. Furthermore, Xiaomi could enable some typical Nougat features such as the Split Screen even on devices that still run Marshmallow including Redmi 3S / Prime and Redmi Note 3, but at the moment the action times have not been communicated there. Ultimately this is another story.

Can anyone tell me if a Mi5 with currently installed an MIUI 9 Global 8.3.15 beta will be able to receive this 9.5 OTA?

Well, Android version upgrades if not seen in Xiaomi if not on the top of the range… Devices born with Lollipop will also have EMUI 9.5 but remain with Android 5.1 and have almost none of the features introduced over time.

It really isn't. I bought the Redmi Note 4 with MM on board, and now the Miui is based on Nougat, even though the Redmi series is the "economic" one of the Xiaomi range, cheap in price, because from the performance to the finishes (aluminum) it is at the level of many phones sold as mid-range (and priced accordingly) When I got it over 1 year ago, a Snap 625, dual sim, 3GB of RAM and 32 ROM cost on average double what I paid for it (155 euros). It goes like clockwork and is followed as updates while so many low range... Read the rest »

The RedMi 4 series is almost entirely stuck in MM, however… Note 4 has been upgraded, the 4, the 4 Pro has not.
