Official iQOO Neo9 and Neo9 Pro with 144Hz screen and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Dimensity 9300 chip

iQOO, the sub-brand of vivo, has officially unveiled its new series of high-end smartphones, iQOO Neo9 and Neo9 Pro. The two models will be available in different color, memory and price variants.

iQOO Neo9 Pro

The two smartphones share an elegant and refined design, with a photographic module that occupies only 7,62% of the back. The back is made of curved glass and offers three color options: “red and white core”, which uses two-color smooth leather splicing technology, “nautical blue”, which uses enamelled textured glass technology, and “black fighter”, which uses AG fluorite glass technology.

The display is a Samsung AMOLED E5 panel, having a 1,5K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz, which supports iQOO's latest generation high-frequency dimming mode and super-sensory touch. The display of the basic model, iQOO Neo9, it is flat and has a 6,78-inch diagonal, while that of the Pro model, iQOO Neo9 Pro, it is curved and it has the same size. Both displays feature a dedicated Q1 chip for e-sports and a Qualcomm 3D Sonic Max ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The main difference between the two models is in the processor: iQOO Neo9 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the first 4nm mobile SoC, with an ARMv9 octa-core CPU up to 3 GHz and an Adreno GPU that is 30% more powerful than that on Snapdragon 8 Gen1 and 8+ Gen1. iQOO Neo9 Pro, however, features the MediaTek Dimensity 9300, a 5nm SoC with an octa-core CPU up to 3,2GHz and a Mali-G710 GPU.

La battery is the same for both models, with a capacity of 5160 mAh and quick charge to 120W, which promises to charge the smartphone from 0 to 100% in just 19 minutes. The Pro model also adds the rWireless charging at 50W and reverse charging at 10W.

Il operating system is OriginOS 4 based on Android 14, vivo's new customized interface that offers greater fluidity, customization and functionality.

The photographic sector of iQOO Neo9 and Neo9 Pro is made up of three rear sensors and one front one. The main sensor is the same for both models, and it is the Samsung ISOCELL GN5 50 MP, a new generation gimbal camera with f/1.75 aperture and optical image stabilization. The ultra-wide angle sensor it's different: for the basic model it is 8 MP with a field of view of 120 degrees, while for the Pro model is 50 MP with a field of view of 150 degrees. The telephoto sensor is 12 MP with 2x optical zoom for the basic model and 16 MP with 2,5x optical zoom for the Pro model. front sensor is 16 MP with f/2.45 aperture for both models.

The camera is equipped with vivo's flagship algorithm and supports features such as hover motion capture, night portrait, HDR video and 4K video at 60 fps.

Finally, iQOO Neo9 and Neo9 Pro arrive with a competitive price compared to other flagships on the market. Specifically memory configurations and prices are as follows:

  • iQOO Neo9: 12GB + 256GB at 2299 yuan (298 euros), 16GB + 256GB at 2499 yuan (324 euros), 16GB + 512GB at 2799 yuan (363 euros), 16GB + 1TB at 3199 yuan (415 euros)
  • iQOO Neo9 Pro: 12GB + 256GB at 2999 yuan (389 euros), 12GB + 512GB at 3299 yuan (428 euros), 16GB + 512GB at 3599 yuan (467 euros), 16GB + 1TB at 3999 yuan (519 euros)

The two models will be available in China from January 12, 2024, but it is not yet known whether they will also arrive in other countries.
