Chinese smartphone maker Vivo applied for the iQOO Pad and iQOO Book trademarks to be registered in June and has now received the first documents to then go under review.

On February 12, 2019, Vivo officially announced its new sub-brand IQOO. On February 20, iQOO informed the world that it would hold its first press conference on March 10 to launch a new device. The conference was held in Shenzhen, China and saw the launch of the new iQOO flagship. To date, the iQOO brand already has XNUMX models on the market.
In any case, IQOO's registration of the iQOO Pad and iQOO Book brands could indicate that the brand is preparing to enter the PC and tablet market. However, it cannot be ruled out that the trademark has been pre-registered to prevent copyright infringement in the future.
The move of iQOO is very similar to that of the parent company Vivo which several months ago had registered two trademarks for the names NEX Book and NEX Pad.
As with iQOO, it could be a preventive strategy to prevent another brand from appropriating the name and releasing products that are at least ambiguous.
