PARTS DETAIL - ASSEMBLY JIMMY HW10
Our Jimmy arrives completely disassembled but fear not, assembly is really intuitive. Here we will show you all the parts and how they fit together.
- Motor Block - Battery: the brushless motor develops a power of 400W while the battery is 26.600mAh, divided into 7 cells. The same can be removed and possibly replaced once it is worn out or if you want to have a spare if its about 80 minutes of autonomy are not enough.
- Dust tank: this small tank, with attached filter, will allow you to use our vacuum cleaner even in the vacuum mode for sofas, cars, mattresses and the floor itself if you do not want to use the washing machine. In this case the collected dirt will end up here. Simple removal which will be done by opening the cap at the bottom with the appropriate button. The parts of the filter can also be washed with water.
- Cleaning rollers: two are supplied, one for all types of floors and the other for carpets.
- Dirty water tank: the dirty water tank collects all liquids and solids that are removed during the "floor cleaning" phase. Inside we will find a divider that divides liquids from solids. The usefulness of this divider is relative, because normally everything is thrown into the toilet, although it can still be useful if solids are collected that must be disposed of in a different way. This container is completely disassembled and we can wash it in all its parts. The important thing is to always let them dry well.
- Clean water tank: unlike many other similar products, we find it at the bottom adjacent to the cleaning roller. Surely the position is not the best of comfort and the filling of the same would have been faster if it had been positioned at the top.
- Machine body + handle: the machine body is where we are going to connect all the parts including the handle with the controls.
- Accessories: there are also 2 very important accessories, a brush for cleaning sofas, mattresses, etc. and a sleeve with a brush useful for removing dust from the machine, PC keyboard, shelves and all those narrow places where with other brushes you would not have the possibility to arrive.
HOW TO USE JIMMY HW10
The methods of use are 4 in the case of use for floors and 2 for use as a portable vacuum cleaner (dust only with accessories):
- AUTO: it is the default one that is activated when the Jimmy HW10 is turned on completely assembled and used to clean the floor. In this mode, it will be you who will understand which surface we are cleaning and with what intensity to do it. When it passes over a particularly dirty section of the floor, the suction power will increase. Let's say that this way of use is my recommended BUT the battery drains quite quickly, as it always tends to keep a strong suction level.
- FLOOR: this is the mode indicated for any type of floor other than a carpet. I normally use this mode for tiles and laminate, it is undoubtedly the best compromise between cleaning and autonomy.
- TURBO: if the floor is particularly dirty, the advice is to use this mode which gives the highest level of suction. Of course, autonomy will drop significantly.
- CARPET: specific method for cleaning carpets, in this case it is recommended to use the special roller that we find in the package
- ECO: default mode for use as a portable vacuum cleaner (use with accessories)
- MAX: recommended mode for use on very dusty sofas, cars, mattresses, shelves.
DISPLAY
The color display will give us all the information necessary for the optimal use of our Jimmy, we will find information on the status of the battery and the mode of use we are using. When then placed in the charging base it will inform us about the% of the battery so we will know when it will be at 100% and we can disconnect the power supply. I say disconnect the power supply as the display, if connected, remains on even once it has reached 100% and this I think is a bug or a design error.
Right below the display we find a button that will allow us to disable the voice alerts that will be issued when the tanks are to be filled / emptied, the battery is running low, etc. The same key will obviously also be used to re-enable the function.
HOW IT CLEANS - SELF-CLEANING
Undoubtedly good, both in the complete "configuration" and in the "reduced" one with accessories. The good suction power guarantees a really satisfactory level of cleaning, just one pass will be enough to remove hair, dust, hair of your animals including more consistent solid dirt. The possibility of wetting the dirtiest parts of your floor more by nebulization is excellent. This spray technique also allows quick drying as the amount of water expelled remains limited. On the other hand it will not be the maximum comfort for those used to using a scrubber with automatic washing,
Cleaning in the areas adjacent to the walls is very good, there is less than 1cm of uncleaned space, so it is the best of all the ones I have tried. During washing, the roller pulls the vacuum cleaner a lot so you will have very little effort during all cleaning. Plus, not negligible is the possibility, which almost all other scrubbers do not have, of detaching the motor-dust tank part, connect the accessory we need and proceed with the cleaning of different rooms of the house and beyond (sofas, mattresses, shelves , kitchen table, car, etc.). Excellent autonomy which in FLOOR mode easily exceeds 50 minutes and can even reach 60.
Present the option of self-cleaning of the roller and self-drying, accessible via the button above the handle (pressed for 2 seconds) when you have placed our HW10 in its charging docking station. However, my advice is to proceed with self-cleaning but let it dry in the classic way, i.e. remove the roller and let it dry outside its housing as the drying process is very long.
FINAL CONSIDERATIONS
Jimmy HW10 is a truly versatile product that will allow you, with just one device, to clean up a multitude of environments. With its purchase you will not have to spend any more money to buy another vacuum cleaner that is only for cleaning carpets / sofas / etc and at the same time not having to spend money on the purchase of a product that will replace the classic mop.
If we want to find a defect, it is certainly that of not having an automatic water spray mode or that of constantly wetting the roller because if you wanted to completely wash the floor this convenience is lacking. Having to always hold down the spray button is definitely not the best. Even the positioning of the clean water tank at the bottom I do not find it intelligent, on the other hand above the space (Having this portable configuration) was not there.
