We again rely on the words of Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, to inform you that we will soon see the launch of the much acclaimed Mi Drone (the name is not yet secure). We learned this information through an interview released in recent days.
Among the features the drone should have (have not been confirmed by the CEO), we find a camera capable of recording video in 4K resolution (maybe the same Yi Camera 2) and a system of GPS sensors not only able to embed the coordinates in the videos through the metadata but also to manage the flight of the drone.
On the other hand, in recent days the official application for managing the drone had been published on the Apple App Store. Unfortunately, it was promptly removed (was it an error?) But it still left the traces we talked about in the previous paragraph.
In addition to the imminent launch of the Mi Drone, the CEO spoke a bit about the future strategy of the company and the products that will be launched soon. First of all, he confirmed the launch of the 2 Mi Band, whose production problems prevented his presentation together with Mi Max | Xiaomi Mi Band 2: Launch canceled due to stocks |.
Subsequently, the interviewer asked questions about the proprietary processor and the notebook. They unfortunately remained without any response but the feeling that has occurred (during the interview) is that something big bubbles in the pot.
In short, Xiaomi is at the top not only with regard to the smartphone and wearable sector (the second largest manufacturer of Q1 2016 after Fitbit and ahead of Apple) but also that of technology in general.
