Leica, the famous German camera manufacturer, presented its new model of instant hybrid camera: the Leica Sofort 2. It is the direct successor to the Leica Sofort, launched in 2016, and which is now renewed with new features and colors. The Leica Sofort 2 will available from November 8th at the price of 379 euros.

But what does an instant hybrid camera mean? It means that the Leica Sofort 2 combines the features of a digital camera with those of an instant camera. In fact, the Sofort 2 is equipped with a 1/5 inch digital sensor which allows users to choose which photos to print, offering greater control and savings on film. Furthermore, the Sofort 2 has an internal memory that can hold up to 50 photos and a rechargeable battery via USB-C.
But the real novelty of the Sofort 2 is the ability to print photos taken with your smartphone. Thanks to the FOTOS app, in fact, users can transfer images from their phone to the camera and print them in instant format. The same applies to photos taken with other Leica cameras, which can be sent to the Sofort 2 via the app.
The Leica Sofort 2 is not only a functional camera, but also an object of design and creative expression. The Sofort 2 is available in three colors: white, red and black, and has an elegant and minimalist appearance. The camera also has several lenses, including a macro for close-ups, and ten effects to personalize photos. Photo printing is done via a side lever which makes the operation simpler and more fun.
The Sofort 2 presents itself as a valid alternative to other instant hybrid cameras on the market, such as the Fujifilm Instax Mini Evo. Compared to its predecessor, the Sofort 2 offers advantages such as the digital sensor, USB-C support and the wider range of lenses. The price of 379 euros is about 80 euros higher than the Sofort, but seems justified by the new features.
