LineageOS 21 available for these Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO

It was October 2021 when the team behind the Custom ROM most famous and supported in the world launched LineageOS 19. This was the last major release for the team but today, after a year and a half, here it is debuting LineageOS 21 with many new features. Based on Android 14 QPR1, this update not only improves the user experience through a series of revamps for Lineage apps but also introduces a brand new super beautiful gallery app.

Il LineageOS 21 launch, based on the latest version of Android 14, introduces a myriad of improvements that touch different aspects of the user experience. One of the most notable changes is theAdopting Material You design for a wide range of apps, including Aperture, Jelly, Dialer, Contacts, Messaging, LatinIME e Calculator. This not only ensures a more pleasant and customizable user interface but also a more intuitive interaction with the device.

glimpse, the new gallery app, aims to replace Gallery2 starting from LineageOS 21, introducing more advanced and functional image management. Aperture, however, benefits from numerous additional features thanks to the new releases of the CameraX API, including HDR video recording, configurable volume button gestures, support for UI rotation, an improved QR scanner, support for voice actions of the assistant and much more.

Jelly, the internal browser on LineageOS 21, is enriched with the introduction of Good as a search engine and suggestion provider, and adds the ability to manage location permissions on a per-website basis. The update also extends the customizations available to users, introducing a global light mode for Quick Settings and an improved expandable side volume control panel.

As for updates, LineageOS 21 speeds up the update installation process A/B, benefiting from the optimizations made by Google, and simplifies the integration of Android's monthly security patches, thanks to the renewal of merge scripts and the updating of utilities to extract files directly from OTA/factory images when possible.
