This device that until now was thought to be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 actually proves to be a real device in its own right belonging to the Redmi series. In fact, the confirmation of this was provided to us by the company itself which, through a post on the Chinese social network Weibo, revealed to the public that it will be called "Redmi Pro" and that it will be presented on July 27th.
Xiaomi's willingness not to insert a numerical value between the two terms (eg: Redmi "3" Pro) indicates that it will be part of the Redmi series but that it will be placed on a completely different level than the other components of the family, redefining the concept of these devices. In fact, from what it was possible to notice in the benchmark leaked a few days ago, the Redmi Pro should have a true top-of-the-range hardware and such a move by the company would be even more corroborated by the fact that in this month the anniversary of the third year of sales of the best-selling low-cost range of devices.
However, the transition to a higher level could also result in an increase in the final sale price which, according to some analysts, should be between that of the Redmi series and that of the more “cheap” Mi series. Consequently, if we take the Mi 4c as a reference point, the Redmi Pro should be placed in a price range that is between 699 Yuan (∼95 €) and 1099 Yuan (∼149 €) but nothing prevents it from being even higher (we are talking about 1499 Yuan, or ∼203 €).
