We continue to talk about malware in the form of trojan, or viruses that enter through applications on our smartphones (and not only). The last time the protagonist of our pages was Escobar, a rather well-known virus but with another name and other guises. Today we are talking about apps that have escaped the watchful eye of Google. In fact, the Play Protect, which is the system that filters malicious apps, misfired with 16 applications from the Play Store. Let's see which ones.

Doctor Web e Bleeping Computer warn of the presence of a multi-faced Trojan, the one known as Android.FaceApp which was modified for bypass various security measures of the Play Store. Furthermore, the two security portals provide a list of infected apps that we should delete if we have them on our smartphone. The danger of having these apps on our device is what ours is for personal data and banking information can be stolen.

Specifically, both sites notice the presence of these trojans on apps like GBWhatsApp, OBWhatsApp o WhatsApp More. These are modules for WhatsApp that offer advanced functions and are obviously not official. The mods promise to add WhatsApp widgets to the desktop of our smartphone, block calls and even hide our WhatsApp status. They are all fake and serve as a vehicle for trojans to land on our devices.
