The Taiwanese company has no plans to give way to the microprocessor market. America and Taiwan are the two bases of the largest companies in the world in terms of SoCs and the names we already know are MediaTek e Qualcomm. While the second has already held the record for years both in terms of revenues and in terms of power of the processors produced, the first is slowly rising in the rankings. For a long time in fact the Taiwanese company has suffered as it is unable to bring noteworthy SoCs into the market: history has changed with the new range of Dimensions and apparently the cards on the table will change again with the new project. According to what has been revealed, in fact, the brand has in store new 5 and 6nm processors with 5G technology and Cortex-A78 architecture.
MediaTek leaves no respite to Qualcomm: the fight between multinationals is getting more and more bitter with the former having in mind two new super powerful SoCs and poco energy eaters
According to the Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station, MediaTek has two aces up its sleeve. These are two new proprietary processors built with architecture Cortex-A78, equipped with 5G connection technology and built with a lithographic process at 5 and 6 nm. All this, translated into loose change terms, means:
- lots of power thanks to the Cortex-A78, currently among the most powerful corses on the square;
- energy saving thanks to the low impact lithographic process;
- technology for ultra-fast connection.
At the moment it is not known what the name of the two processors will be, but at least we know the code name: one will be MT6893 and another MT6891. Respectively, according to the Chinese leaker, they will be equipped with a lithographic process at 5 and 6 nm. In both cases, energy savings are expected in terms of not indifferent consumption. This coupled with the cores Cortex-A78 they will guarantee exceptional performances but with an eye to the price as only MediaTek can do.
The release date of the two processors is not known but undoubtedly the brand is preparing for the end of the year, when Qualcomm will come out with the new Snapdragon 875.
