MediaTek Dimensity 9200: the new super chip is coming in November (leak)

The end of the year is approaching and it's time for the annual update of the flagship MediaTek chip. As we know, in the second half of this year, the company has achieved good results in the high-end market with its new flagship products Dimensity. Well, according to the Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station, MediaTek's next flagship will be called “Dimensity 9200” and could be launched in November.

The blogger also revealed that manufacturer Vivo has gotten the exclusive for the first launch of the Dimensity 9200, with the following device launching towards the end of the year. The first model could belong to the Vivo X90 series.

At the moment, there is no exact information about the Dimensity 9200 specification. It is said that it will use the latest 4nm TSMC process, the CPU architecture will be upgraded to a new generation of ultra-large Cortex-X3 cores and the architecture of the GPU will be updated to the latest Immortalis-G715.

According to the official data from Arm, the X3 core has greatly improved the power efficiency ratio, stating that the performance is up to 25% higher than the previous generation chip and the CPU performance is also 34% higher.

The Immortalis-G715 GPU not only has a new name, it also fully supports hardware-level ray tracing, which will completely subvert gaming experiences on smartphones and tablets.

Just a few days ago, MediaTek held a technical communication meeting and disclosed seven industry-leading cutting-edge technologies of the Dimensity mobile platform, including mobile light sensing, mobile GPU efficiency improvement solutions, semantic segmentation of the 'AI image, new dual-pass 5G, Wi-Fi 7, high-fidelity Bluetooth audio and high-precision navigation.
