MediaTek MT6893 check on Geekbench: more performing than MTK 1000+?

Several months ago Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek unveiled the new 1000 series, which included both the “1000” and the “1000+”. These two CPUs have impressed the world with performance almost on par with competitor Qualcomm, but at a decidedly reduced price.

Well, apparently the company has already prepared their successor, which should arrive under the name of MT6893. The processor has appeared in several leaks in recent months, but today the famous Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station confirms that the new SoC will be faster than the current Dimensity 1000+ chipset.

MediaTek MT6893 check on Geekbench: more performing than MTK 1000+?

MediaTek MT6893

To prove this to us, Digital Chat Station released a screenshot of the CPU test on the GeekBench benchmarking platform. Let's start with the single core score, which as we can see is 4022, while the one in multi core mode is 10982.

In comparison, the MediaTek 1000+ managed to achieve 3717 in single core and 11721 in multi core. So the new MT6893 would be more performing in single core mode and slightly less powerful in multi core.

If instead we go to compare it with chips from other companies, the Snapdragon 865 reaches 4277 and 13318 in single core and multi core, while the Huawei Kirin 990 5G gets 3845 and 12127 in the two modes.

Also in this case the MediaTek MT6893 approaches in single core and much less in multi core.

From the benchmark we can also see that the CPU adopts Cortex-A78 with a clock of 2.8 GHz, but this could vary at launch, reaching a maximum of 3,0 GHz. We then have a Mali-G77 MC9 for the part. graphics and at least 8GB of integrated RAM.

Finally, always the same leakster states that the CPU could debut on board a smartphone Redmi.
