Meizu Watch will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100

As we already know, the launch of Meizu's first smartwatch has been scheduled towards the end of this month. Meizu's official account, Meizu Smart Life, has also often released teasers about this new product on their Weibo account over the past couple of days.

Well today, Meizu Smart Life's Weibo account released some info on the main chip on board the smartwatch. Specifically, he stated that:

The new generation of flagships with "small screen" from Meizu, will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 flagship chip, for high performance and silence everyone!

Meizu's fully “smart” smartwatches are now available for online bookings in the Meizu Mall and Meizu Jingdong flagship store.

Recall that the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 is a processor offered by Qualcomm for smartwatches. It was released in July last year and has been upgraded from the previous generation with 28nm process at 12nm and from the previous Cortex-A7 at 1,1GHz to Cortex-A53 at 1,7GHz. In addition to a new double ISP, dual DSP, CPU performance increased by 85%, GPU improved by 2,5x, and battery life increased by 25%.

Clearly the Meizu Watch won't be the first wearable with this chip, but it's still a great starting point for the Chinese brand. It is also hoped that prices will remain competitive as we have always been used to with smartphones.
