MIUI: here's how to change the orientation of multitasking

When we talk about multitasking very often we refer to the iOS system, or that of the iPhone. In reality, however, even Android smartphones, including Xiaomi, have the same (or almost) same system. By default this system allows you to temporarily delete applications running in the background through a swipe. But did you know about that MIUI can be to change the orientation of multitasking from horizontal to vertical and vice versa? We explain how to do it.

Do you want to change the orientation of multitasking from vertical to horizontal on the MIUI of your Xiaomi? Nothing simpler, here's how

For a less MIUI and more iOS experience, we can change the orientation of multitasking in a really simple way. Basically we can change how apps are displayed in the background, so you can eliminate them by swiping upwards. How? By following this simple guide:

  • first we have to go up Settings, which is the gear icon
  • once here we will have to tap on Screenshot Home to get to the dedicated menu
  • at this point we will have to look for the option Recent App Layout which will be used to access the last menu, the one dedicated to orientation
  • in the photo on the right we see how we can decide to change the arrangement of the tabs: on the left we will find the option Vertical where the tabs will be displayed one on the top, on the right Horizontal where, conversely, they will be displayed in the iOS manner.

It is worth mentioning that this functionality is exclusive to the proprietary system launcher and it will not be usable if you use alternative launchers. Consequently POCO Launcher or similar will not count on this feature. A shame considering that many many users have decided to abandon the system launcher to switch to a third-party one. Why? The standard one is too much trouble.

Like everything, however, it has to hang somewhere: there are many bugs, but on the other hand it is the less "castrated" launcher. As usual, it all depends on the user's preferences.
