Motorola has announced its new low-end smartphone, the Moto GPlay (2024), which will be available in the United States starting February 8th. The device is the successor to the Moto G Play (2023), launched in 2022, and offers some improvements over the previous model.
Moto G Play (2024) official in the US: entry-level device under $150
The Moto G Play (2024) comes with a simple but elegant design, with a rectangular rear camera module that rises slightly from the rear panel. The latter is reminiscent of that of the OPPO Find X5 and Reno 8. The power button also acts as a fingerprint sensor. On the front, the device has a 6,5 inch center hole display with HD+ resolution and peak brightness of 500 nits. The screen is surrounded by thick bezels. There refresh rate is 90Hz.
On the optical front, the Moto G Play (2024) features a single main camera from 50MP combined with an LED flash. For comparison, its predecessor had a triple rear camera setup. On the front, the smartphone features a 8MP selfie camera.
Under the hood, the Moto G Play 2024 comes with a Snapdragon 680 processor, Together with 4GB of RAM which can be expanded up to 6GB with virtual RAM. There are also 64GB of internal memory expandable via a microSD card slot.
The device is powered by a battery 5.000mAh with support to quick charge from 15W. On a software level, the smartphone runs on stock Android 13.
The Moto G Play is available in Sapphire Blue color only. Motorola stared the price of the smartphone at 150 dollars and will be available in the United States starting February 8.
Recall that earlier Motorola launched the Moto G Power (2024). It is a mid-range smartphone with a 6,8-inch display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 690 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, 5.000mAh battery with 30W fast charging, rear camera 48MP and 16MP front camera. The Moto G Power (2024) is priced at $200.
