Motorola is preparing the launch of a new smartphone from the Moto G series, the Motorola Moto G Play (2024). The device is the successor to the Moto G Play (2023), a budget smartphone with 4G connectivity, HD+ display and triple rear camera. The new model, however, should offer some improvements on both an aesthetic and technical level, as shown by the renderings leaked online.
LEAK: The design of the next Motorola Moto G Play (2024) revealed
The design of the Motorola Moto G Play (2024) does not differ much from that of other recently unveiled Moto G smartphones, such as the Moto G 5G (2024) and the Moto G Power 5G (2024). The device has a flat bezel with power and volume buttons on the right side, the former of which doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The back panel has a raised rectangular island that houses a single 50 MP main camera flanked by an LED flash.
On the front, the Motorola Moto G Play (2024) has a display with central hole for the selfie camera. The screen is surrounded by fairly wide bezels and a thick chin, typical of low-end smartphones. The report states that the smartphone will have a 6,5 LCD display with FHD+ resolution, instead of HD+ like the previous model.
The Moto G Play (2024) is seen in one option Sapphire Blue color. The bottom of the device will house a USB Type-C port and a speaker grill, while the jack from 3,5 mm will be placed at the top.
The Moto G Play (2024) appears to be a budget smartphone, but with some interesting features. It is said to arrive with a price tag of $169 in the US and is expected to be released next month. The complete technical specifications are not yet known, but it is assumed that it has a large battery, expandable internal memory and 4G connectivity. Motorola has not yet officially confirmed the existence of this smartphone, but it could do so soon, given the proximity of the presumed launch date.
