Nothing launches its NFT but is overwhelmed by controversy

NothingPhone (1) is the smartphone of Carl pei's company (formerly OnePlus) which will also arrive in Italy. However, as we have seen, the device will debut in the Italian market exclusively thanks to a manager. Therefore, the device will be "branded". But having said that, the startup has today launched his first NFT (non fungible token) which however did not lead to the desired results. The critical, and not even a few. Let's see why.

Nothing's first (and hopefully only) NFT is online but Carl Pei's (formerly OnePlus) company has been overwhelmed by a sea of controversy

The popularity of NFT has already begun to decline, but the brand Nothing however, he decided to embark on the "advertising train". The company released its non-fungible token by posting it on its website. The reaction of users was not long in coming, but it turned out to be anything but positive. This is a short video with a rotating cube, on one of the faces of which a black dot is depicted. No community investor can receive it as a gift to sell or exchange for early access to the brand's products.

To have it, it will be necessary purchase a digital asset on the OpenSea platform starting today. Judging by the comments on Twitter company, users have not reacted too favorably to the new initiative. The criticism for the most part has boiled down to the fact that the NFT has nothing to do with the new smartphone. Hence, one of the users said that a much better solution for buyers would be a power supply attached to the smartphone. Another commentator noted that the brand could have simply been selling a physical souvenir cube instead of a digital copy.

But the criticisms did not stop there because, as those behind the world of NFT know, to create them they emits a quantity of carbon not indifferent. Unfortunately, however, Carl Pei's Nothing company was launched as "green company"(As if a company that produces technological accessories could be truly green). To highlight this deficiency, users have even referred to one publication on the annual energy consumption of the Polygon blockchain.
