One thing that the new Coronavirus Covid-19 has taught us is that prudence is never too much and therefore products that once seemed exclusive to certain markets, are now part of our daily life, such as masks to protect our face. A slice of the market that has come to life is undoubtedly that relating to air purifiers, in which Xiaomi boasts a real army of models of the most disparate sizes, all guaranteeing a better level of health.
And on this path, the Chinese OEM has decided to produce a new filter, even more effective thanks to an antibacterial rate of over 99,99%, thus achieving a total disinfection of almost 100% against bacteria and viruses such as Staphylococcus, E. coli and even COVID-19 as well as against H1N1, also known as swine flu.
Xiaomi's new filter is suitable for all the lineup of air purifiers currently on the market, naturally filtering also all types of dust and animal hair particles. In addition, the activated carbon system reduces bad odors by absorbing any traces of formaldehyde from the air. For the new filter Xiaomi asks for 169 yuan, or about 21 euros at the exchange rate with immediate sales through its channels, but soon we are sure to see it also arrive on third-party stores.
New anti-Covid-19 products by Xiaomi: new air filter and osmosis water purifier
Another product that certainly cannot miss in the prevention against germs, bacteria and viruses is a water purifier which Xiaomi after almost a year from the first model today offers a renewed version, aka the Xiaomi Mi Water Purifier 500G, an improved version of the previous model that adds a 5-phase filter system, obtaining an even better water quality level.
In detail we find a compact water purifier, such as to be inserted under the sink cabinet, thanks to dimensions equal to 381 x 127 x 420 mm as well as to an elongated shape that make it immediate in the installation in any kitchen and tap, even in the garden.
For its operation, this new Xiaomi Mi Water Purifier 500G uses a 5-stage reverse osmosis filtering system (the previous model only had 4). For this, the water circulates through various PP cotton filters and various activated carbon rods. In addition to this, the new purifier offers performance that reaches a delivery of 1,3L / minute of pure water, capable of providing a total of 3600 liters of purified water with a single filter.
Xiaomi also tends to emphasize how the new gadget is easy to install so much that the help of a technician is not necessary, but it will be enough to connect everything to the running water outlet and start immediately to enjoy purified water. In any case, the smart side is not lacking, as the new Mi Water Purifier 500G can be connected to the Mi Home application, in order to have the general status of the filters under control, with relative notification reminder of the replacement.
The new product, which in its own way contributes to the fight against Covid-19, is sold at a price of 1899 yuan, or about 240 euros per exchange. An interesting idea that we could soon see also through online stores that ship to our market.
