Official MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra: what we know

MediaTek made it official Dimension 7200 Ultra. Although it is unclear whether the announcement was accelerated due to Redmi which gave some previews of the Note 13 Pro on social media – especially the Pro+ version – which will be powered by the Dimensity 7200-Ultra. MediaTek's revelation came in a rush, revealed via a post on Weibo. At the moment, there is no official statement and it is not mentioned on the Taiwanese company's website.

For now, the differences between MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra and the standard version are not known

The Dimensity 7200-Ultra has many similarities to the previous SoC, released in February. The specs mentioned by MediaTek on Weibo appear to match those of the “base” Dimensity 7200. If there are differences, they will be revealed once the full technical specifications are published, which are not available at the moment.

Both the Dimensity 7200-Ultra and the Dimensity 7200 use the TSMC 4 nanometer manufacturing technology second generation and have an architecture Octa core with 2 Cortex-A715 cores at 2,8 GHz and 6 Cortex-A510 cores. Both chipsets have a GPU Mali-G610 and the APU 650 dedicated to AI-assisted operations.

The Dimensity 7200-Ultra also features the 765-bit MediaTek Imagiq 14 ISP, capable of supporting image sensors up to 200 megapixels and 4K video shooting with HDR.

For now, MediaTek has not provided further details, but we await more precise information on the potential of this chip. The company's statement on Weibo concludes by announcing that devices based on the Dimensity 7200-Ultra will be released soon, with the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ to be revealed in China later this month.

In the meantime, you can refresh your memory with the technical data sheet of the MediaTek 7200, processor dedicated to mid-range smartphones but with top-of-the-range behavior. We'll see how his successor will be different.
