OmniVision introduced the OV08X, a 4K sensor for laptop webcams. It is able to track a person in the frame, crop an extra image during a video call and have many more features interesting. Last, but not least, the queen characteristic is that of being there before purchasing, camera integrated with 4K resolution to be launched.
OmniVision OV08X positions itself as an expensive laptop camera with a screen ratio of 16:10 and a resolution of up to 1920 x 1200 pixels. Its small size allows it to fit into the smallest screen frame, while its resolution of 9.2 megapixel makes 4K video calling possible. The size of the panel is 1 / 5,7 ″, pixels - 0,7 microns.
The intelligent functions of the OV08X allow it to keep the person in the center of the frame during a call and zoom in so that your face always takes up most of the frame. The camera also recognizes a person in the frame in real time e locks the computer if the user disappears from view.
According to OmniVision, when buying a laptop with an OV08X sensor, users won't need external cameras for high-quality images during a video call. Mass production of the OmniVision OV08X will begin at December 2022 and the first laptops with the new sensor will hit the market in 2023.
