OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro: complete wipe date after update to beta 3

There is no doubt that the OxygenOS is among the best skins, if not the best, in terms of stability but apparently the latest OxygenOS 11 release is bringing some problems to users. Most of the bugs are due, according to reports, to poor integration with Android 11. What we are going to see today, however, is a problem that exclusively concerns the last build beta customization OnePlus. We know that we have arrived at the third open beta and although many users are not particularly accustomed to unstable versions, the installation is still practiced. In this regard, we want to report a message from the Telegram community OnePlus Guides:

For 4 years, OnePlus has maintained an OxygenOS beta program dedicated to all its users. Over time, however, I have noticed that many people install it not having even a minimum of computer knowledge. This is not a program for everyone. In fact, it is used to test the software and is aimed at users who have a minimum of knowledge and desire to send feedback. So stay away from betas if you are afraid of losing data or do not know how to do a rollback.

Fortunately, the problem was promptly reported to developers who are looking for a solution. The wipe data has led, according to reports, to leaks of important data such as related services PayPal and other payment platforms.

How to solve?

Unfortunately once the update is done there is no going back but for the future there are precautions to keep in mind:

  • disable automatic updates;
  • always make a backup before proceeding with the manual update (always recommended);
  • do not install betas if you are not aware of the possible risks involved
