After leaking yesterday in some photos, today the new OPPO A98 5G was officially presented in Malaysia. Let's take a closer look at the branded new mid-range OPPO.
Official OPPO A98 5G with Snapdragon 695 5G, 120Hz screen and 64MP camera
Let's start with the performance of the OPPO A98 5G which is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor. This chip uses a 6nm manufacturing process and is an octa-core type, with two 78GHz Cortex-A2,2 big cores and six 55GHz Cortex-A1,8 small cores. The processor is coupled to 8GB of LPDDR4X type RAM memory e 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal memory; the device also supports 8 GB of virtual memory.
The hardware just mentioned powers one 6,72-inch FHD LCD screen that supports 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. The panel supports the HDR10+ standard and has 600 nits of brightness.
As for photography, OPPO A98 5G has three rear cameras, including one 64-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel depth-of-field lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The front camera is 32 megapixels and can be used for selfies and video calls.
From the point of view of autonomy, the mid-range integrates a battery 5000mAh which supports the R67W wired fast charge.
The phone is also equipped with a side fingerprint recognition sensor, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, USB Type-C and NFC, etc.
Regarding the look, the phone adopts the design language Glow by OPPO, using fingerprint and scratch resistant materials and coatings. The phone has one thickness of 8,2 mm and weighs 192 grams.
Finally, for prices, although the official price of the new OPPO A98 5G has not yet been announced, according to the online store, the 8 GB + 256 GB version would have a price of 1399 Malaysian ringgit, about 290 euros at current exchange rates.
