OPPO Air Glass 3 announced at MWC 2024: XR and AI together

OPPO, one of the world's technological giants, presented its new prototype of XR (extended reality) glasses at MWC 2024 Air Glass 3, which promise to deliver a “weightless” AI experience. The glasses can access OPPO's AndesGPT model via a smartphone, thus avoiding having to press a button on the phone to activate AI functions.

The Air Glass 3 weigh only 50 grams and feature a self-developed resin waveguide with a refractive index of 1,70. They have one maximum brightness of over 1.000 nits, which guarantees clear vision even in bright light conditions.

OPPO claims that these features ensure an experience close to that of a pair of normal glasses, but with the advantage of having the best color display in its category. The glasses can project high-quality 3D images, which overlap with the surrounding reality, creating an immersive effect.

The glasses also have a AI voice assistant powered by AndesGPT, which is able to understand natural language and respond to user requests. The glasses also supporttactile interaction, which allows you to control music, voice calls, information viewing and image navigation. The glasses are equipped with four microphones, designed to improve noise isolation and ensure high audio quality.

OPPO also revealed its plans to bring various generative AI features, including a Eraser AI for photos, to his Reno11 and Find N3 smartphones. These features will allow users to edit and enhance their photos easily and intelligently, eliminating unwanted elements or adding artistic effects.

OPPO said it wanted to make AI technology more accessible and user-friendly, and to explore the potential of extended reality to enrich people's lives. The Air Glass 3 glasses are still in the prototype stage, but OPPO has announced that they will make them available to the public later this year.
