OPPO also joins Huawei towards the renunciation of Google services

The history of the USA ban against the technological giant Huawei has certainly made headlines and for the first time since the launch of the first Android smartphone we were asked if it was possible to live with a device without the services offered by Google. In fact, to date, all Android smartphones base much of their services, and therefore their operation, on the platform provided by Google and known as Google Media Services.

The company Huawei has tried to run for cover by thinking and developing its own operating system, a sort of ecosystem that takes the name of Huawei Mobile Services, similar to what Google makes available to billions of users. The last time will expire on February 16, 2020, after which the ban by the American government should materialize against the Chinese company. Yet, as bizarre as it may seem, a proprietary ecosystem seems to be the way of the future (at least for Chinese phone manufacturers), in fact, OPPO has also joined forces with Huawei's strategy, which has launched a powerful funding campaign for Indian developers, once the construction of a service platform for mobile devices located in the Indian sub-continent.

Of course, in the process of developing a proprietary ecosystem, Huawei has an advantage in terms of time and resources so much that Charles Peng, the CEO of the Consumer Business division of Huawei and Honor India, said that fundamental services such as payment, navigation and messaging are almost ready in the new Huawei Mobile Services platform. An ecosystem of applications will also be developed on which to convey the new Huawei Mobile Services, thus allowing all devices that cannot access the Google platform to take advantage of a high-level ueser experience.

Huaweri has invested 1 billion dollars towards Indian developers for the integration of their apps into the proprietary ecosystem, while OPPO in a more modest way has given 140 million dollars for the development of the new software services ecosystem with the aim of stimulating the development of services compatible with ColorOS 7. Naturally for both companies the goal is also to increase their presence on the Indian market, which has always been recognized as one of the most prosperous markets for the sale of smartphones. Probably the move of OPPO towards the search for alternative Google services hides something else, considering the recent surge in sales in the western market (where Big G services are fundamental) and considering that the Chinese company has always proved to be one of the precursors of the Android operating system.
