Let's talk about the next Reno series. Some time ago we brought you an interesting leak about the Oppo Reno 5 processor. The source, as happens not infrequently, was Digital Chat Station. On that occasion, however, there was talk of a single processor for a single type of smartphone. Apparently, however, this new series, which should also arrive in a global version, will be composed of three models: standard, Pro and Pro Plus which will mount different SoCs. Luckily there won't be an Ultra version too: it seems that the brand has pulled out of the fashion of the moment.

According to a famous Chinese leaker, there are three total models that the series Oppo Reno 5 will bring to market. It is a model basis, an enhanced model Pro and an even better one Pro Plus. As for these last two devices they will mount the same SoC while the first device will mount a different one. Anyhow they are all new processors we know nothing about. For this reason it would be advisable, although we trust the source, to take the news with a grain of salt.
As we can see the basic variant will integrate a Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G where the G stands for Gaming. We know its predecessor, the Snapdragon 765G which has seen great fortune in recent months as it is proving to be an excellent chipset. The Pro version will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 and the Pro Plus will also integrate the same chip. Also in this case we know a relative of his, lo Snapdragon 865. This is mounted on the latest top of the range Oppo Find X2 Pro and is currently the most powerful on the square. We can say that, if this list is confirmed, even Oppo Reno 5 Pro Plus will be a flagship with all the trimmings as the frequency compared to the 865 will be slightly lower.
Compared to the prediction we made a few days ago, therefore, there is a change: it seems that it is Snapdragon 875 will not be used.
