Oppo presents 150W VOOC charging for smartphones and a new type of battery for mobile devices that is truly indestructible!
Oppo introduced a new technology for fast charging SUPERVOOC 150W capable of charging a 4500mAh battery from 1% to 100% in just 15 minutes. Additionally, the manufacturer spoke at MWC 2022 about the proprietary solution Battery Health Engine, the characteristic of which is a twofold increase in the battery life of mobile devices.
The SUPERVOOC power supply from Oppo is capable of delivering up to 150W (20V / 7.5A) through two "charge pumps" that transfer energy directly to the battery. This guarantees the heat dissipation and optimal charging efficiency. The technology is designed for devices with double batteries: each “pump” is powered with a current of 20 V / 3.75 A, which can be converted into 5 V / 15 A for each cell. Without a double cell system, such technology would not be integrated into smartphones.
The 150W adapter is also compatible with i PD and PPS protocols, allowing users to charge smartphones, laptops or other devices of different brands. In addition, the charger is built on the basis of al cells gallium nitride (GaN), thanks to which it has compact dimensions (58 x 57 x 30 mm) without danger of overheating. As anticipated, Oppo has also introduced the technology Battery Health Engine to extend the life of the batteries. A proprietary solution based on a dedicated chip to battery management. This includes two components main: the Smart Battery Health Algorithm and the battery recovery technology. According to Oppo, using the Battery Health Engine helps keep the battery at 80% of its original capacity after 1600 charging cycles. We are talking about double the urate compared to industry standards.
But the news does not end there as Oppo is collaborating with multiple partners to create a open fast charging ecosystem. In addition to developing their own products, the SUPERVOOC team is encouraging the brands of third parts to bring VOOC technology to their devices.
