This is what Hugo Barra said during the presentation of the Mi TV 4. While classic televisions come with a display and motherboard in one package (and maybe a soundbar), with its Xiaomi modular TV offers its users to independently update the motherboard, which typically has a much cheaper cost than the display.
Xiaomi will start selling the 65-inch version of the Mi TV 4 in China at a price poco less than $ 2000, including the complete soundbar setup, by the end of the year. Subsequently, the 59-inch and 49-inch versions will also be available at prices yet to be defined.
