Qualcomm has the second generation of fingerprint sensors

Many of you will think it's strange that XiaomiToday we can talk about other brands, but we must make a small excursus on Vivo that today becomes the prototype brand of Qualcomm for the new generation sensor for fingerprint identification. But let's see in detail what we're referring to.

It was Vive Xplay 6 to mount it first. We are talking about the new Qualcomm system that would allow fingerprint recognition through sensors directly below the OLED panel of the devices.

In fact, after submitting it to the Shanghai MWC 2017, Qualcomm has decided to experiment directly with this new ultrasonic technology which, among other things, would allow to monitor other biometric functions. It has also been reported that the new technology will be applicable not only to Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, a symptom that innovation goes beyond its brand. The fact remains that Qualcomm can really experience this technology officially on devices that mount its SoC SD 630 and 660 ... or better, they will mount, since at least the Snapdragon 630 has not yet been experimented with any smartphone.

The real challenge, though, was to be able to thin the sensor panel as a glass or metal frame OLED panel can reach the 1200 micron, respectively due to the thickness of 800 or 650 micron of the structure of glass or metal holder. Mission accomplished by Qualcomm that has managed to maintain its own ultrasonic panel in the thickness of 400 micron, ensuring perfect compatibility with both types of materials.

It should be pointed out that this new technology will not reach the market before October this year and therefore, we do not expect the new technology to be implemented on a smartphone that can be purchased before half of 2018 ... with the peace of the most innovative fans!

And if the new sensor of Qualcomm would be made under body and not under the display? Would you like it as a solution? Let us know in your comments or sign up for XiaomiToday's Facebook Group devoted exclusively to the cinephonics!
