Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra is compatible with the new Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 standard
Qualcomm China has in fact declared on Weibo (famous Chinese social network), that "The Mi 10 Ultra supports 120watt Triple Charge charging technology and is therefore compatible with Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 technology".
What does it all mean? Quite simply, Xiaomi's fast charging supports technology compatible with the new Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 charging standard presented just two weeks ago. So, in practice, the Mi 10 Ultra will be compatible with all those official chargers that will use the new QC5, which as we can already imagine will become the most common charging standard globally.
The Quick Charge 5 improves performance by allowing us to charge our devices up to four times faster than the previous generation. In addition to the high charging speed, the new standard also adopts various safety measures. QC 5 incorporates 12 separate protections for voltage, current and temperature, including overvoltage protection of the USB input at 25V and external power controls above 30V. In addition, the technology also works at a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius lower than Quick Charge 4.
Qualcomm's Quick Charge 5 supports Dual / Triple Charge technology, with adaptive input voltage, INOV4, Qualcomm Battery Saver and the new Qualcomm Smart Identification of Adapter Capabilities technology, which work together to maximize power transfer efficiency while increasing safety and helping to extend the life cycle of the battery. Finally, as regards the maximum power, Qualcomm declares that you can go beyond 100W, but has not specified a maximum limit. We remind you that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra supports wired charging up to 120W.
