The processor Snapdragon 8 Gen3 by Qualcomm, the flagship chip of the next generation of Android smartphones, was spotted on benchmark site Geekbench before its official launch. The device that performed the test is the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus, one of the most anticipated models of 2024.
Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor dominates Geekbench with the Galaxy S24 Plus
According to Geekbench results, the Galaxy S24 Plus scored a single-core score of 2233 and a multi-core score of 6661, outperforming its main competitors such as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor (3,36 GHz) and MediaTek's Dimension 9200+. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor is based on the TSMC's N4P process and is configured with one 4GHz X3.3 super large core, three 720GHz A3.15 large cores, two 720GHz A2,96 large cores, and two 530GHz A2,27 small cores, as well as an Adreno 750 GPU.
This data shows that the third generation Snapdragon 8 processor has improved performance by 11,4% in single-core and 26,3% in multi-core compared to the previous generation. Furthermore, it also surpassed the Dimension 9200+, which is considered the most powerful chip from MediaTek, both in single-core and multi-core.
The processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 will be officially presented at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit, that will be held from 24 to 26 November. This chip is expected to be adopted by various Android manufacturers for their new flagship smartphones, including Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo and Vivo. These devices will offer users a smooth and fast experience, as well as longer battery life and better photo quality.
