According to several sources from China, smartphone maker Realme will launch its first Snapdragon 888-powered device in the first quarter of 2021.
Realme Koi will be the brand's first smartphone with Snapdragon 888
Yesterday, the president of Realme China confirmed that this device will be part of a new series for the domestic market. Today the brand then confirmed that its first smartphone with Snapdragon 888 will be called Realme Koi.
As some of you may know, koi carp, more specifically nishikigoi or Japanese carp, is the domesticated ornamental variety of the common carp. Hence, this could suggest that the Realme Koi will come with an incredibly eye-catching design or that it may be available in several bright colors.
In any case, Realme has already created a dedicated profile for the Realme Koi on Weibo (the Chinese Twitter). The company should then use the profile to share more information about the Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone.
Finally, based on several recent leaks, we can say that the Realme Koi comes with the codename "Race" and its model number is RMX2022. The smartphone is expected to equip 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage and will come preloaded with the Realme UI 2.0 operating system based on Android 11.
